Located in the Western region of New York State, Buffalo is the second-largest city with a population of 278,349 in the 2020 census. In the earliest years, the area was inhabited by natives from the Neutral, Erie, and Iroquois tribes and was notable for its plethora of natural resources. Years later, many European settlers relocated to the area due to Buffalo, NY being the ending location of the Erie Canal and several railroads. Once the waterways and harbors were improved upon, Buffalo became a leading hub for grain production.

In later years, the downtown area began to industrialize, allowing room for several factories and hubs for businesses from retail, healthcare, tourism, logistics, and manufacturing industries. Due to the position on Lake Erie, many of these businesses found Buffalo, NY preferable compared to other New York areas since several distribution ports were within the same location.

Today, many people have grown up or relocated to the area due to the ever growing community. Several businesses have moved offices into the area, small businesses continue to open, and neighborhoods are modernizing with each passing year. There are several restaurant and bar scenes throughout the city, local shopping centers, and two professional sport teams to cheer on throughout the year.
